How to describe an app idea if you are not a programmer
A simple step-by-step guide for turning an app idea into clear requirements that AI tools or developers can use.
You can have a strong app idea without knowing how to code. The missing skill is not programming. It is explaining the idea clearly enough for a developer or AI tool to build it.
Step 1: write one sentence
Use this format: An app for [audience] that helps [do what] by [how]. Example: An app for runners that builds training plans based on energy level.
Step 2: describe users and jobs
- Who uses the product
- What task each user wants to complete
- What result they expect to see
Step 3: write the main scenario
Describe the most important user path as simple steps: open, choose, enter, receive. Do not describe everything at once. One or two core scenarios are enough to start.
Step 4: turn the idea into artifacts
AI SDLC turns plain text into requirements, use cases and diagrams. You review and approve them, then move to architecture or code-generation specs.
You do not need to be a programmer to describe an app. You need structure. AI can turn that structure into software artifacts.
Describe your idea, and AI SDLC will generate requirements, artifacts and documentation. Free to start.
